Tech Students at IGF
Georgia Tech CoC Undergrads selected to appear at 2005 Independent Games Festival Student Showcase. "Team Robot" was developed for the Fall 2004 offering of CS4455 Video Game Design and Programming taught by Chris Shaw. This is the 4th year in a row that a Georgia Tech team has been selected for the IGF Student Showcase.

Bogost's Games at Sundance
Prof. Ian Bogost's game Take Back Illinois, a public policy strategy game, has been selected as one of the 10 finalists in the Slamdance Independent Game Festival. The Slamdance Film Festival will be held alongside the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah in late January 2005. 2005 marks the first time a game festival will run in addition to the well-known film festival.

Johnny Wilson at the EGL
Game industry luminary Johnny Wilson visited the EGL in December 2004 to talk with faculty members, view current demos, and offer his unique insights on the game research and development. Dr. Wilson is co-author of High Score! The Illustrated History of Electronic Games and, for many years, the Editor-in-Chief of Computer Gaming World during its era as the most influential PC gaming magazine in the United States.
